As an Official Partner of the England rugby league team, Kingstone Press took five lucky competition winners to spend the day with the team at their pre Four Nations training camp in Loughborough.

The winners were chosen from over 4,000 entries to the competition, which ran across Facebook, Twitter and throughout Thwaites pubs during May.

David Fuentes, Lewis Hobson, Pat Benatmane, Robert Kilby and Adam Manani and their guests were welcomed by England head coach, Steve McNamara, before joining the team for a typical training camp lunch.  The excited rugby league fans had the opportunity to chat to the players, take photos and get autographs from their favourite players.

Mehana Benatmane, whose wife Pat entered the competition, said: “My wife was so excited she rang me at work, while I was in the middle of a meeting, to tell me she’d won!  It was a big surprise - but a great one!”

The group were then whisked off on the team bus to a nearby bowling alley to join in the team bonding session.  The competitive spirit came out as they battled it out with the England players to show off their ten pin bowling skills!

Back at the training ground in Loughborough, the winners got the chance to put their own rugby skills to the test as they spent time with the England team coaches who put them through their paces in their own training session.

Adam Manani and his stepfather Raymond were unsure what to expect when they were told they’d won.  Raymond commented: “It’s been an outstanding day, so much more than we expected.  Being presented with our own training kit bags by Ben Westwood was a real highlight of the day for us.”

Finished off with a slap up meal and an overnight stay in a local hotel, the winners were given a truly memorable experience.

Avid rugby league supports, Robert and Tracey Kilby, commented: “As fans of rugby league for over 40 years, spending the day with the England rugby league team at their training camp was like a dream come true for us!”

We’ll be running more competitions for rugby league fans throughout the season so make sure you keep an eye on the Kingstone Press website, Facebook and Twitter pages to see what other great prizes we have up for grabs.
