Big Communications has been appointed by Aston Manor Cider to work on its flagship brand, Kingstone Press cider, following a four way pitch.

The agency will provide strategic, creative, PR and social media services and has developed a new ‘Proper Cider’ positioning for the brand.

The marketing initiative aims to highlight the brand’s real and straightforward values of providing an authentic, no nonsense cider.  It is intended to help raise awareness of both the brand and its partnership with rugby league.

Gordon Johncox, managing director at Kingstone Press, commented: “We were impressed with the insight and creativity the team at Big demonstrated during their pitch.  We are looking forward to working with Big on our increased marketing efforts to help promote the brand and position Kingstone Press as ‘Proper Cider’.”

Managing partner, Jamie Heath who will be heading up the team at Big said: “We are delighted to have won this pitch. There is a real consumer demand in the cider market for authenticity without the frills and we can see that this is something Kingstone Press can provide.  We are excited about getting to work and producing a compelling campaign to help raise the brand’s profile.”

Aston Manor Cider is the UK’s largest independent cider maker and is 100% family owned with an ethos to deliver only the finest products.  With over 300 acres of orchards in Malvern, the company creates a wide range of cider brands, such as Kingstone Press, that span the entire cider category.
