Aston Manor Cider, one of the UK’s largest cider makers and contract packers, is celebrating winning the Large Business of the Year award at the West Midlands Business Masters.

The business has been recognised for making ambitious strides to become the most capable, progressive and professional cider maker. Impressing the judging panel with their commitment to the region, Aston Manor Cider has continuously invested in world-class production facilities and orchards across the Midlands.

Aston Manor Cider was also praised for its environmental credentials. Its sustainability agenda has recently seen a switch to 51% recycled content in all large pack (PET) plastic bottles - a first for the alcoholic drinks industry, which will save approximately 1,000 tonnes of raw material annually.

This accolade marks a return to this competition. Aston Manor Cider previously won the Innovation award in 2017 and Best Manufacturer (Large) in 2015.

Gordon Johncox, chief executive of Aston Manor Cider, said: "We are delighted with further recognition for the business at one of the most prestigious awards in our region.

“We’re especially pleased that our unwavering commitment to the West Midlands and the environment has been acknowledged.

“We have great teams in place right across our business and a clear focus on how we can continue to improve in all areas of operation and develop our sustainability plan. It is great to see the progress we are making.”

This is the first award Aston Manor Cider has won in 2019 following a highly-successful 2018, where the cider maker won 13 awards for its business practices and products.

The West Midland’s Business Masters Awards, run by thebusinessdesk.com, celebrates excellence in all aspects of business life as well as enterprise and entrepreneurship.
